Charred Broccoli with Lemon Tahini

I think side dishes need to get more love and attention. Rather than just plain roasted broccoli, spice it up with this flavorful lemon tahini dressing, toasted walnuts and sesame seeds!



  • 1 head of broccoli, stems chopped

  • Olive oil

  • Salt

  • 1/2 cup tahini (I love the whole foods brand!)

  • Juice from 1/2 lemon

  • handful of walnuts

  • White sesame seeds

  • Option to add pomegranates or cranberries for a pop of color


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

  2. Drizzle broccoli with olive oil and salt and roast for 20 minutes or until nicely browned. Add the walnuts to the baking sheet and roast alongside the broccoli

  3. Mix lemon juice with the tahini

  4. Place broccoli on a serving dish and spoon tahini evenly over the broccoli and walnuts. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and pomegranates and serve hot!
